TRIP OVERVIEW
Our home valley in its best month. The tour follows the Karakoram Highway north from Islamabad to Chilas and on to Karimabad, then works through Hunza and Gojal while the poplars and apricot orchards turn gold.
Days are spent at Baltit and Altit forts, at Hopper and Duiker, and around the Passu, Batura and Hussaini glacier areas, with Rakaposhi and Diran in view for much of the drive.
The route runs all the way to Khunjerab Pass on the Pakistan–China border before returning south along the old Silk Route.
