TRIP OVERVIEW
This is the K2 Base Camp trek with a spectacular exit. Instead of retracing the Baltoro, you cross the 5,585 m Gondogoro La — a steep, glaciated pass climbed before dawn on fixed ropes.
The summit of the pass gives what many consider the finest single view on earth: K2, Broad Peak, Gasherbrum I and II lined up behind you, Laila Peak and Masherbrum ahead.
The descent drops into the pastures of the Hushe Valley, an abrupt and welcome return to grass, water and village life.
